Top 10 {2013}

As tradition says we have to post a top 10 list for this year too, 2013. This time I chose ten of my favorites. So here are my ten choices in random order. It wasn't too many creations this year, the time has just flown bye. Therefor the choices were few and I am still left with some creations for later publication because of the magazine Ett Trykk.

I would love for you to write me a comment on which creations was your favorite.

Hexagonal box {Christmas gift}

When it comes to Christmas I rarely have to time to craft the Christmas gifts. Therefor I prepared Elin's gift for over 2 months ago. In that case I was sure it would be finished! I decided on making a hexagonal box. This box was made with hard cardboard and paper, so it's quite solid. It even survived the trip all the way to Oslo. I have decorated the box with paper from Pion Design's Christmas collection. As you can see in the inside of the box I've used the papers with the deers on. The box is made on free hand, so there is no tutorial. On the top I have cut out some christmas trees from Nellie Snellen, painted them white, covered them in glossy accent and added glitter on them. The stamps I have used are from the only stamp collection from Maja Design, Vintage Winter. Around the box I decorated with Seam Binding in the color Winter White and a little pearl bread from Panduro. On the top of the box I went a little overboard with the pearls and the liquid pearls. But it gives the illusion of snow around the trees.

To fill the box I made some soft creamy caramels. I have used this recipe from Passion for Baking that you can find her
  • 2½ dl cream
  • 2½ dl milk
  • 1 dl corn syrup
  • 50 g butter
  • 250 g brown sugar
  • 470 g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Christmas Mail {Wrapping}

I had to prepare some easy gift tags year. I used some Tim Holtz tags I had laying around and used Siri's stamp from Kaboks in the front, "Julepost". Julepost means Christmas mail in norwegian. I wrapped my gifts in cellophane bags and tissue paper in white. As string I used hemp. You can find Siri's stamps and papers in her in online shop at kaboks.com. I wish all my readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. There will definitely be more christmas posts before the 24th December so stay tuned and enjoy advent.

Stempelglede Design Team Call 2014 {Slider card}

When I heard that Stempelglede had posted a DT-call I just dropped everything I had and started to plan. It has been a dream for so long, and I only had to day/nights on getting it done, so it was just to get started straight away. I wanted to make something special so I decided to mask two of the stamps. Trust me, that was not easy. Such a mess and so many tries before I was really happy. You should have seen my desk, filled with post-it in green, pink, yellow and orange, ink, scissors, paper and so much more. The two stamps I've used are from Vintage Garden. I have stamped the bird in the middle, removed the details on the sides. Than stamped the flowers on both sides again.

On the inside of my slider card I have stamp the stamp in the corner again, than paper-pierced a colored image of the same flower.

On the inside I have used the same papers and the same doily as the front page. The papers are all from Maja Design. The collections Vintage Spring Basic and Vintage Summer Basic. The little lace is bought from Bikuben and the pearls are from Kaiser Crafts. The flowers are from Wild Orchids Craft and the little bird house (that goes so well with the stamp) is from Prima.

Bird snack {Christmas gift}

Every year I try to make a little something for the people around me that I appreciate. Last year I made homemade taco spice and this year I made bird food in Christmas shapes. I also made a little tag (to the left) written in norwegian. It has a little poem and the recipe for the snack next to it.

You need:
500 gr of bird seeds
250 gr coconut butter

Melt the butter in a casserole and mix in the bird seeds. Use a spoon to put them into the little figures and either make a hole in them or put the tread in while it´s still not set. As you can see I have done both. Place them cold (either outside or in the fridge) until the butter is set and than hang them on the trees! ;-)

Pillow box as gift tag {Christmas}

In the new magazine Ett Trykk we can see beautiful creations from Elin (or as she is know to many others Tjorven). This amazing artist is not only great at what she does but also one of my closest friends. If you want to jump over at here blog here it is: Mypapermill. In Ett Trykk Elin had made these gift tags for Christmas and I just had to try them too. The tags are made with the pillow dies from Tim Holtz.
The snowflake stamps are from Tim Holtz and the stamp in the back with To and From is from North Star Stamps. I have used craft and white bazzill. With the craft I have used embossing powder in the color white and in the white I have used blue "Midnight" ink from Staz On. The snowflake dies is from Penny Black and one of them is in white felt. Julepost (or christmas mail) stamp is from Kaboks. Remember if you want to try them out link your post back to Elin!

Triangle Box {Christmas}

Ooh can you guys believe it?? It´s already december! So since I am stuck reading linguistics all day for my exam monday (you are more than welcome to wish me good luck, I think I will need it), I figured that I could post a new Christmas project for you guys. This I made in September while I was visiting my scrap-soulmate Elin. I bought a box similar to this one, "Toblerone" for 5 years ago and I have been wanting to make a box from scratch. After lots of paper in the trash I finally managed to put it together. Elin was kind enough to use the sewing machine on the edges for me, since I can not sew! I have tried, it never turns out good.

The stamp of the tree is from Inkido and the text is unknown as I borrowed it from Elin. The papers are from Pion Design and the snowflakes are from Maja Road and Tim Holtz.  They were first painted white, covered in glossy accent and then covered in the new glitter from Tim Holtz. The box is done by free hand, and the ribbon is all from Familieminner.
